Kris Graves (b. 1982 New York, NY) is a photographer and publisher based in New York and London. He received his BFA in Visual Arts from S.U.N.Y. Purchase College. He has been published and exhibited globally, including the National Portrait Gallery in London, England; Blue Sky Gallery in Portland, Oregon; Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania; ClampArt Gallery in New York; Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art in Virginia Beach; and Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado among others.
Anne Wilkes Tucker is the founding curator of the MFAH’s photography department. In her 40-year career at the Museum, Tucker built the photography collection from a scant 141 prints to a collection of more than 30,000 photographs taken on all 7 continents and featuring more than 4,000 artists. Tucker continually championed the work of young photographers, often making MFAH one of the first institutions to acquire their work. This endowment celebrates Anne’s foresight by continuing the acquisition of excellent emerging photographers.
