Biography

Thomas Holton graduated from the School of Visual Arts with an MFA in photography in 2005. His work has been exhibited widely, including shows at Peek: The Art and Commerce Festival of Emerging Artists; the Griffin Museum of Photography, Boston; Photographic Center Northwest, Seattle; the Houston Center for Photography, the New York Public Library and The Museum of the City of New York. He has been published in American Photo, American Photography, and Photo District News. The Lams of Ludlow Street, a project documenting the lives of a Chinese immigrant family living in New York’s Chinatown, was featured in the Spring 2007 issue of Aperture Magazine. Holton was born to a Chinese mother and an American father; his work documenting the Lam family, in part, is a study of his own connection to that heritage.
